About this trip

Ready for a little more pull on the line? This trip heads just off the coast of Marco Island into the Gulf, where artificial reefs, rock piles, and sunken wrecks are home to some of Southwest Florida's tastiest and toughest fish. Drop a line and you never know what's coming up: mangrove snapper, grouper, hogfish, sheepshead, and more, with seasonal visits from Spanish mackerel, kingfish, permit, and cobia. And if something really big grabs your bait, it might be a goliath grouper. They're catch-and-release only, but the fight (and the photo) is one you won't forget. Your captain will handle the bait, tackle, and spot selection, and they'll show you exactly how to work the structure, whether it's your first time bottom fishing or your hundredth. Plenty of what we catch here is great eating, so you might just head home with dinner (within legal limits and seasons, of course). Along the way, keep an eye out for dolphins, sea turtles, and diving birds working the bait. It's a little bit of adventure, a lot of fun, and some of the best action Marco Island has to offer. Please note: Nearshore trips depend on Gulf conditions. If the wind and waves aren't cooperating, your captain may recommend a backwater trip instead so you still have a great day on the water.
