This policy explains what information Marco Island Fishing (“we”, “us”) collects through MarcoIslandFishing.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• What you give us: when you sign up for the fishing report, your email address and, if you choose, your mobile number, plus which messages you agreed to receive.
• When you book a trip: your name, email, mobile number, where you’re staying (optional), your party size, any note for your captain, and the trip details. We share these with your captain so they can run your trip. Your card is handled by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• Photos you share: if you upload photos from your trip, we keep them along with the permission you gave. Your captain chooses which ones appear on the site, and you can ask us to remove any of them.
• Consent records: the date and time you opted in and the exact wording you agreed to, so we can show that we have your permission.
• Basic technical data: our hosting providers automatically log information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.

How we use it

• To process your booking and payment, and to send you messages about your trip.
• To send the Marco Island fishing report and occasional trip offers, only by the channels you opted into.
• To let you know when booking opens on MarcoIslandFishing.com.
• To operate, secure and improve the site.
• To comply with the law.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are visited and where people leave before booking) so we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed and general location. It doesn’t receive your name, email, phone number or payment details. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Text messages

If you opt in to text messages, we will send recurring messages such as the fishing report and trip offers to the number you provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf.

Captains’ Google Calendar

Charter captains can connect a Google Calendar so guests only see times the captain is free. If a captain connects one, we access: the list of their calendars (so they can choose one per boat), the times those calendars are busy (not the details of their events), and the ability to add events for bookings the captain has confirmed on MarcoIslandFishing.com. We store an encrypted access token so we can check availability when guests search.

We use this Google data only to show availability and add confirmed bookings. We don’t sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models, and no person at Marco Island Fishing reads it except to fix a problem the captain asks us to, for security, or when the law requires. MarcoIslandFishing.com’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Captains can disconnect at any time in the captain portal or in their Google Account settings, and we then delete the stored token.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting, database, email and text-message providers, who may use it only to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of our guests, captains or others.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from email using the link in any email we send.
• Stop text messages by replying STOP.
• Ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing bookings@marcoislandfishing.com.

How long we keep it

We keep your contact information while you remain subscribed, and for as long as needed afterwards to honor your opt-out and meet legal obligations. We keep consent records as proof of permission.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and restricted database access. No system is perfectly secure.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date above.
