Booking terms & cancellation policy

MarcoIslandFishing.com is operated by Marco Island Fishing, 385 Angler Dr, Goodland, FL 34140. By booking a trip on this site you agree to these terms. Questions? Email bookings@marcoislandfishing.com or call (239) 276-8688.
1. Who you’re booking with
MarcoIslandFishing.com is a booking marketplace. Trips are run by independent, local charter captains and companies (“captains”), who are responsible for their boats, crews, licenses, insurance and the trip itself. We handle the booking, payment, messages and customer service, and we collect payment on the captain’s behalf.
2. Booking and payment
- You choose a trip, date, start time and number of guests. Prices are set by each captain and shown before you pay, including any service fee for card processing.
- You pay the full price by card when you book. For most trips your card is held, not charged, until the captain confirms, usually within 4 hours (requests made late at night are answered the next morning). If the captain can’t take you, the hold is released and you pay nothing.
- Trips marked instant confirmation are confirmed and charged as soon as you pay.
- Deposit trips: some captains take only a deposit online, shown before you pay. The rest of the trip price is paid directly to your captain on the day of the trip, however they accept payment. That balance is between you and your captain.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Gift certificates
- Gift certificates can be used on any trip on this site that’s paid in full online (not on deposit trips). They never expire and carry no fees.
- If a certificate is worth more than the trip, the rest stays on the code for next time. If a trip paid with a certificate is declined, cancelled or refunded, that amount goes back on the code (anything paid by card is refunded to the card).
- Gift certificates can’t be exchanged for cash, except where the law requires it. Keep your code safe: anyone with the code can use it.
3. If you cancel
- 72 hours or more before your trip: full refund of the trip price.
- Between 72 and 24 hours before: 50% of the trip price is refunded.
- Less than 24 hours before, or if you don’t show up: no refund.
- The service fee (card processing), where one applies, isn’t refunded when you cancel, because the card charge has already been made.
- On deposit trips these refunds apply to the deposit, which is all you paid online. If you cancel or don’t show up, you don’t owe the captain the balance.
- To cancel, email bookings@marcoislandfishing.com with your booking link. Refunds reach your card in 5–10 business days.
4. Weather, and if your captain cancels
- Safety decisions are the captain’s. If your captain calls a trip off for weather or unsafe conditions, you can move it to another open day at no charge, or get a full refund, including any service fee. If you don’t choose within 48 hours, you’re refunded in full automatically.
- If a captain cancels for any other reason, you’re refunded in full, including any service fee, and we’ll show you other captains who are free.
5. On the water
- Please arrive 15 minutes early and follow your captain’s safety instructions at all times. A captain may refuse or end a trip if someone’s behavior puts anyone at risk.
- Boating and fishing involve natural risks: weather, sun, water, hooks, slippery decks and wildlife. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your group, including children.
- What’s included, fishing licenses, keeping fish, food and drink, restrooms and whether a trip is private vary by captain; check each trip’s details or ask in your booking messages. Florida’s fishing seasons, size and bag limits apply.
6. Messages, texts and privacy
- Messages you send from your booking page go to your captain and are kept with your booking.
- If you ask for texts about your booking, we text you about that booking only. Reply STOP to opt out. Fishing report emails and texts are separate and only sent if you sign up; every one has an unsubscribe link.
- Captains don’t get your email address; they see your phone number shortly before the trip so you can find each other. See our privacy policy.
7. Photos, reviews and tips
- If you share trip photos, you confirm you took them and that people shown agreed; you give us and your captain permission to show them as described when you upload.
- Reviews and feedback must reflect a genuine experience.
- Tips for your captain are always optional, and 100% goes to the captain.
8. Our responsibility
We work to list only licensed, insured captains and to keep availability and prices accurate, but the trip itself is provided by the captain. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any booking is limited to the amount you paid for it.
9. Disputes and changes
If something goes wrong, email us first and we’ll try to make it right. These terms are governed by Florida law. We may update these terms; the version shown when you booked applies to that booking.
